Visitors to Tobago for the “Tobago Beach Jazz” are in for a treat when the weekend-long event featuring top local and international musicians gets going at Turtle Beach on April 29th and 30th 2017.
bmobile is excited to be the main sponsor of this Carl Beaver Henderson production, which is being staged in conjunction with Beach House and Rex Turtle Beach Hotel. At a press conference held at the Turtle Beach Hotel, General Manager, Leslie Amedee, expressed how elated he was to house this fringe jazz event. “The Turtle Beach Rex Resort provides a venue that suits and accommodates everything for this event.”
In addressing the media, Beaver Henderson indicated that over the 2 days, guests can expect a lot of live entertainment and jazz music featuring renowned saxophonist Arturo Tappin, gifted trumpeter Elan Trotman, Queen of local jazz Vaughnette Bigford, Kay Alleyne, local Frank Sinatra Kelvin Hutting, Tobago INXS and young musicians from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).
Henderson highly commended bmobile for their support and partnership. According to Onica Blackman, Enterprise Marketing and Communications Manager, TSTT, Tobago Operations, “We agree with Mr. Henderson that the Tobago Beach Jazz will be a unique Caribbean experience. We appreciate the diversity of talent that this event showcases and it allows us to contribute to the Tobago cultural landscape”. Blackman also noted that the experience the Tobago Beach Jazz will provide for patrons, mirrors and embodies the bmobile tagline, “Life Is On”.
As an extension of the Tobago Beach Jazz, bmobile also intends to work with the Tobago based art students, to create a mural aimed to represent how Tobago has successfully balanced its development with environmental protection.
Beaver Henderson, who has been a musician for the past 46 years, said that patrons can expect music from as far back as the 70s with hits from groups such as Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago and Cool and the Gang, all enjoyed in an atmosphere that has been set with the right tone that captures the nature and spirit of jazz by designer Marlon Darbeau.
