‘Unveiled 2017’ – A BHS Success!
Port of Spain, Trinidad, February 22, 2017
The premises of Bishops High School were transformed to capture the theme of this year’s all-inclusive party – ‘Unveiled 2017’. Amidst the fuchsia pink and green drapings, hundreds of supporters and past students gathered for this yearly fund raiser, including past student, Chief Secretary the Honourable Kelvin Charles.
For yet another year bmobile partnered with Bishops High School to stage what is now the single calendar all-Inclusive party in Tobago at Carnival time. Now in its 4th year, the BHS All-Inclusive has gained popularity and is now considered a staple on the Tobago entertainment scene by many.
‘Unveiled’ carried a star studded cast along with well-known comedian and soca artiste Nikki Crosby who was MC for the evening. bmobile was there to complete the experience with a photo booth that allowed patrons to create memories and the usual party nick nacks such as bandanas, cups and lanyards. Onica Blackman, Enterprise Marketing and Communications Manager, TSTT, Tobago Operations expressed that, “The BHS All-Inclusive has really made a name for itself and I congratulate them on this initiative. This year ‘Unveiled’ was no different. Patrons looked forward to coming and I know they left well satisfied. However, it is not only about enjoyment but bmobile is particularly keen to partner with Bishops High School on this event because the proceeds go back into the school, to assist with educating and developing our young minds.”
According to Acting Principal, Suzette James-Stewart, proceeds from this year’s event will go towards extending the school’s field. “We would like to have a FIFA sized football field and track, so we can have our school sports on our own grounds next year. We hope to be ready to start by the end of March 2017. All plans have been drawn thanks to past students who are architects and engineers. So when we get our monies, we are going to start the process. It was promised to take three months,” said James-Stewart. She also noted that proceeds from the previous three years, went into constructing a new pavilion/canteen building.
The ‘Unveiled 2017’ cast included Tobago’s very own Adana, carnival 2017 favourite – MX Prime and Ultimate Rejects, Oscar B, Roy Cape with Blaxx, Tizzy and Ricardo Drue, Orlando Octave, Farmer Nappy and Marvay out of Barbados.
Here’s is a taste of what patrons had to say about ‘Unveiled 2017’, Jayvon Carrington – “Off the chain so far”; Evelyn Carrington – “So far, so good but I really, really enjoyed MX Prime. He killed it. It was absolutely fantastic”; Marsha Holder – “For me I came to have a grand time and I did. MX Prime was fantastic and I tremendously enjoyed Roy Cape and Blaxx. They were really pumping”; Cleo Armstrong – “It’s a wonderful night. MX Prime, his performance was great”; Mariella Armstrong – “It was really, really good. I enjoyed it”.
It was the first time that comedienne Nikki Crosby was hosting the BHS All-Inclusive. Crosby who hosts many of the all-inclusives in Trinidad at carnival time said, “I’m really glad to be in Tobago. Tonight is good. I love it. It just has a real nice vibe. I like how together it is and I like the different food like the sweet potato pone. I not getting that in no all-inclusive in Trinidad.”
